Managing Director

Tony Hodgins is a graduate from Birmingham University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having spent seven years in the profession, firstly with PwC and then two years with Andersen.

He was a founder of Wheale Thomas Hodgins in 1990 and is now Managing Director. He specialises in Board (both Executive and Non-Executive) and Senior Management positions.

Tony has gained a reputation for quickly understanding a vacant role and investing time with the client at the start of a project. He takes on board not only the subtleties of the position but also the values and principles of the client.

Associate Director - Executive Recruitment

David Coombes has an MBA and 35 years’ experience of working in the transport and logistics industries. This includes 20 years in global logistics and supply chain at Director and Managing Director level, responsible for multimillion-pound budgets and head counts in excess of 3,000 people, across multi-modal operations. He started on his own in 2006 providing consultancy services to the supply chain sector, followed by recruitment and then training with the acquisition of Skills for Logistics in 2015.

In 2016, David joined forces with WTH to provide recruitment services and specialises in Executive Recruitment with a focus on CEOs and senior commercial roles. In addition, he heads up our recruitment services within logistics and transportation.

Head of Business Development

Tom O’Neill graduated from Strathclyde University and is one of the founders of Wheale Thomas Hodgins. He worked at PwC prior to entering the recruitment industry. He is a highly experienced recruiter and is recognised across the business and professional community for his many successful placements, with a particular focus on SMEs and owner-managed businesses. After a sabbatical, he has returned as Head of Business Development.
